PROGRAM MANAGEMENT - INVENTORY
Controlling
and organizing inventory is one of our key tools in managing
successful uniform programs. What follows are some of the elements
crucial to the operation of our inventory system.
- Inventory Commitment: ImageFIRST maintains
a substantial inventory of a wide variety of uniform items
used by our customers. Our standard stock consists of thousands
of items, hundreds in multiple colors and sizes, and over 15,000
sku’s valued at over $2 million.
- Min/Max Levels: All uniform items
are inputted into our computer system with min/max levels.
These levels are determined by previous uniform usage and are
approved by the customer. The min/max levels ensure that stock
is always available to fill orders. The minimum levels are
established based on lead times to replenish the stock. These
levels are examined and adjusted periodically to accurately
reflect changeable ordering patterns.
- Forecasting and Reorder Process: Forecasting
is necessary to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained.
When we roll out a uniform program for a new client, forecasting
can be challenging, since in many instances there is no ordering
history. By working closely with our clients, we can predict
when peak ordering periods occur and temporarily increase stock
levels to accommodate the increased needs.
